Finding Governmental and Philanthropic Grants
While Foundation Directory focuses on non-profit grant providers and non-profit recipients (i.e. the platform does not typically profile for-profit social enterprises), it is useful for identifying government and private foundation grant or impact investing opportunities. PE/VC firms may have non-profit foundation arms that provide grants, mission-related investments (MRI), or program-related investments (PRI), which may be captured by Foundation Directory (see Omidyar Network as an example). Additionally, Foundation Directory will capture activity by charitable foundations, which may have impact investing initiatives (see the Gates Family Foundation and the Cleveland Foundation as examples).
In Subject Area either type in Social Enterprise or navigate to the category Community and economic development > Business and industry > Social enterprise.
Select Search.
