App Download Statistics

Statistics on how many times an app is downloaded, or who is downloading apps are available from paid sources such as App Annie or Apptopia. Unfortunately Stanford does not have subscriptions to these sites.

As an alternative, you can often find some statistics through these databases:

Some other suggestions:

  • If the app belongs to a public company, try looking at the company's 10-K (which is a specific type of SEC form) and other information they disclose.
  • Search for news & trade articles about the app to see if they mention information about how many times it has been downloaded.
