Create an Account

  1. Connect to CB Insights
  2. Click Sign Up and create an account with your @stanford.edu email

Access CB Insights

Always use a link on the GSB Library's website so you are recognized as a Stanford user.

Common Error Messages

"Free Trial Has Ended" or "Your Account Has Expired"

  • If you already have an account linked to Stanford, email CB Insights to reactivate.
    • Make sure you use the same email address you used for your CB Insights account. Be careful with any aliases so you submit the correct email address.
  • If you haven't yet created an account with your Stanford email, do that following the above instructions.

"You Must be on the Stanford University Network"

  • Always use a link on the GSB Library's website so you are recognized as a Stanford user.
  • If you still get the same error, use an incognito browser (or a browser you don't normally use, or clear your browser's cookies and cache) and try to connect to CB Insights again.

Restrictions

  • CB Insights limits our accounts to 6,000 downloads per user per year.
  • Market Maps, MVPs, and CB Insights Expert Intelligence Reports are not available to academic institutions.
