Off-Campus Library Database Access

Almost all of our online resources are available from any location. While connected to Stanford's secure WiFi/ethernet you will be automatically detected as being an authorized Stanford user for most of our resources. If you're not on Stanford's network, do either of the following to ensure you're recognized as a Stanford user.

Use the Links on Our Website

The links on our website, like the Business Databases & Datasets page, ensure you are an authorized user and grant you access if your permissions allow it, regardless of your location.

Install the Lean Library Browser Extension

It will automatically provide you access to most content licensed by Stanford's libraries (exceptions do exist, such as Wall Street Journal Digital).

  • Download the extension and follow the prompts to add it to your browser. Under Select your library choose Stanford University and click Save.
  • With the extension, your browser will automatically connect you to library-licensed resources. You will be prompted to authenticate with your SUNet ID when necessary. Watch the demo:
