There are many places you can find market share data, including the following databases. They will typically provide market sizing information like "x industry is worth "y" amount of money" and/or share information like "x company has y % of the total market". You may want to create your own estimates tailored to your specific target audience.

  • IBISWorld
    • Includes industry reports with market size and market share data for US industries and selected China and Global industries.
  • D&B Hoovers
    • Includes MarketLine industry reports that contain market size and market share information for global, regional, and country-specific markets.
    • Instructions:
      1. From the homepage, select the Analyze Markets box.
      2. On the search screen make the following selections:
        1. In Report Type field select Market Research Report.
        2. In Brokerage House/Source field select MarketLine.
      3. Add any additional criteria as needed.
      4. Click View Results.
  • FitchConnect
    • Includes Industry Forecast Reports with market size for 25+ industries for individual countries or world regions.
    • Instructions:
      1. From the top menu select Sectors to locate the covered industries.
      2. In the upper right Global Search box enter an industry and country or region.
      3. Select the relevant result under the Research heading. The Industry Forecast Reports contain detailed market information.

    • Scroll to Market Share Reporter. This publication gives the market share of individual products and industries on a global scale. The breakdown varies depending on the product or industry.

    • Very good resource to determine market size or individual company/brand market share. Use keyword search.
  • Insider Intelligence
    • Focused on digital consumers and industries (e.g. telehealth, e-commerce, etc.)
    • Global coverage.
