Pivot Profiles

Always use a link on the GSB Library's website so you are recognized as a Stanford user.

While creating an account and profile in Pivot are optional, an account and profile will let you track and share funding opportunities, save searches, and get personalized funding recommendations curated by Pivot's editorial team.

Claim Your Profile

  1. Log in to your Pivot account.
  2. On the upper right, use the drop-down menu to select Claim profile.
  3. If you see your name listed, select This is me.
  4. If you do not see your name listed, select Create your Profile.
    • Follow the prompts about your author name and email address.
    • Enter your department, role, and the year you joined Stanford University.
    • Select Finish.

Add a Proxy to Manage Your Profile

Note: to be added as a proxy, users must have a registered Pivot account.

  1. On the upper right, use the drop-down menu to select Your profile.
  2. Select Add a Proxy.
  3. Search for the proxy account by last name.
  4. To the right of your proxy's name, click on +add.

Editing Your Profile

Pivot offers customized funding recommendations based on the information in your profile. The most important elements for the suggestion algorithm are:

  1. Links: your professional website, CV, or publication page.
  2. Affiliation: your title and departmental affiliation.
  3. Keywords: controlled vocabulary of your research interests.

To edit these elements, select Your profile > Edit Profile > Overview.
