SNL Data Access in Capital IQ Pro

We have access to the following SNL data in the Capital IQ Pro platform:

  • SNL Energy
  • SNL Media & Telecommunications

Note: This is a different product than Capital IQ, which contains company information and financial data for companies in all industries.

SNL data is available to current Stanford faculty, staff, and students for academic use only.

Access SNL Data

Always use a link on the GSB Library's website so you are recognized as a Stanford user.

  1. Connect to SNL Energy or SNL Media & Telecommunications.
  2. Follow the prompts to enter your SUNet ID and password, if you're not already logged in on your browser.
    1. If prompted, enter your SUNet email address on the S&P Global Sign In page and press Next.
  3. First time users follow the prompts to set up your account.
    1. When asked for your Specialization, select either Energy or Media & Telecommunications.

Help & Troubleshooting

First, try to access the database using a private/incognito browser (or clear your browser's cookies and cache). If you still have questions or run into issues, Ask Us. Please provide specific information about what you did and/or the error message you see.
