FactSet Access

FactSet Accounts

You must request a FactSet login with your SUNet@stanford.edu email.

  • Pick either a "student" or "professor" account as appropriate.
  • In the University field, select Stanford University - School of Business.
  • You'll receive an email when the account is created - it may take a few hours (and remember to check your spam if you don't see it).
If you do not get an email from FactSet after a couple of hours, please Ask Us to create a FactSet account for you.

Accessing FactSet

With your Browser

Always use a link on the GSB Library's website so you are recognized as a Stanford user.

  1. If you don't already have an account, request one.
  2. Connect to FactSet.
  3. Click Launch FactSet Web.
  4. Enter your SUNet@stanford.edu.
  5. Click the Single Sign-On (SSO) button.

With Workstation, the Desktop Version and Excel Plugin

If you have a PC/Windows computer and you want to install FactSet on your own computer:

  1. If you don't already have an account, request one.
  2. Ask Us so we can add that to your account.
  3. Once your account has been updated, follow the FactSet Workstation installation instructions.

Or, you can use FactSet Workstation and the Excel Plugin in the Trader's Pit (onsite only). You will need to log in to FactSet using your FactSet account.

Troubleshooting

"Unknown FactSet ID" - If you're not able to log in to your existing Stanford FactSet account, it may have expired. FactSet automatically deactivates accounts if they haven't been used in 90 days. Clicking on the forget password or username links will not work, as you'll never receive the email because they removed it from the system.

Call the support number at the bottom of the FactSet log in page and explain the situation. They should be able to forward the request to the account team to reactivate it.
